Thermal Protocol

Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 26, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains what information Thermal Protocol (thermalprotocol.com) collects, how that information is used, and the choices you have about it. We try to collect the minimum amount of data needed to operate the site and improve its content.

Information we collect

When you visit Thermal Protocol, our servers automatically receive standard web request data: your IP address, browser user-agent string, the page you requested, and the referring URL (if any). This data is used to operate the site, debug errors, and understand which pages are useful to readers.

When you click an affiliate link, we record the click for analytics purposes. Your IP address is not stored in raw form — it is hashed with a daily-rotated salt before being saved, so individual visitors cannot be re-identified from the stored record. We store the referring URL, the user-agent string, the affiliate link clicked, and a timestamp.

We do not require you to create an account, and we do not collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, or payment information unless you voluntarily submit them (for example, by emailing us).

Cookies

Thermal Protocol uses a minimal number of first-party cookies for site functionality. We do not use third-party advertising cookies. We may add a privacy-respecting analytics cookie (such as one from Plausible) in the future, in which case this policy will be updated.

Affiliate links and third parties

Many product links on this site are affiliate links. When you click an affiliate link, you are redirected to the merchant's website. Once there, the merchant's privacy policy applies — not ours. Merchants and the affiliate networks they use (such as Impact, ShareASale, Refersion, Awin, and CJ) may set their own cookies on your device to attribute the eventual purchase to Thermal Protocol so we can receive a commission.

Data retention

Server access logs are retained for up to 30 days. Hashed affiliate click records are retained for up to 24 months for analytics purposes, after which they are deleted or further aggregated such that individual records cannot be reconstructed.

Your rights

Residents of jurisdictions with applicable data protection laws (including the EU, UK, and California) have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal data we hold about them. Because we do not collect personal identifiers from passive site visitors, in most cases we have no individually identifiable data to act on. To make a request, email hello@thermalprotocol.com.

Children

Thermal Protocol is intended for adults purchasing home recovery equipment. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has submitted information to us, email us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the site evolves. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be highlighted on the homepage for a reasonable period after they take effect.
